About Us

We are a multicultural church intent on impacting our community with the power of the gospel. Together, we're striving to become the church described in the Bible - a church with passionate worship and relevant Bible teaching. We come from all walks of life. Fellowship, prayer, and friendship are all a part of what to expect through our services and ministries. We desire to provide compassionate care for those in spiritual need, and to equip people to fulfill the purpose God has for their life.

History

Approximately sixty years ago, Rev. Phil Tolstad founded the United Pentecostal Church of Billings, Montana. The church first met in a tarpaper shack on a half foundation. As the membership increased, the building was added on to multiple times. This building on 19th Street was where the church was located when Bro. & Sis. Russell came to Billings in 1970. Under their leadership, the church has continued to strengthen and grow. In 1980 the church moved to its present location at 2335 Lewis Avenue. During his 37 year tenure as the local pastor, Rev. Russell was also involved in leadership throughout the states of Montana, Wyoming, and Utah. For over 29 years he served as the District Superintendent of the Rocky Mountain District of the United Pentecostal Church International. Continuing the heritage of the Pentecostals in Billings, Eddie Sermon, his wife, Regina, and two sons, Aaron & Jordan recently became the latest additions. Bro. Sermon called Rock Springs, Wyoming his home until his parents moved from the West when he was ten years old. After graduating from Texas Bible College in 1987, he was involved in ministry in Wharton, Texas and then back at TBC until 1993. For 14 years he served as the assistant pastor and music director for Livingway Pentecostal Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana before becoming the pastor here in May of 2007.
